Dr. Maddie Smith grew up in Lexington, KY and now proudly calls Downers Grove home. She started her career as a chiropractor after suffering from low back pain as a teenage athlete, and finding relief through chiropractic care.
Dr. Smith is a graduate of Logan University, where she was heavily involved in the research-driven programs and groups on campus. Prior to chiropractic school, Dr. Smith earned her B.S. in Exercise Science at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
She is passionate about educating patients on the cause of their pain, and individualizing treatment to help each person meet their goals. She has had opportunities to treat a variety of patients in her career. From underserved patients at a federally qualified health center, all the way to working as the team doctor for a gymnastics and cheerleading club. Now, Dr. Smith enjoys treating the whole family, including young athletes and weekend warriors.
Dr. Smith enjoys an active lifestyle and encourages her patients to do the same. She utilizes her knowledge of exercise along with her chiropractic skills to get people feeling better and help them stay better.
Education: -Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale -Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan University, with highest honors -Certified in Acupuncture and Dry Needling, Logan University -Coursework in McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, Active Release Technique, and sports rehabilitation
